Clay, a blogger in Gainesville, writes more about the newly minted Parking Lot Bill. Unlike most gun owners I would imagine I am one of the few who don't really view this as a victory. Actually, Clay, you aren't alone here. Not by a long shot.
The CWP requirement is troublesome because the state already explicitly allows you to keep a firearm securely encased in your car without a permit. The law also exempts quite a few types of businesses without ANY good reason. It also doesn't protect the privacy of an employee's vehicle like the NRA said it would. Personally, I just think it is incomplete, overly narrow, and poorly executed. |
