Uncle posted a short rant about a week ago regarding folks who jump all over .Gov hits on their blogs.
I was just browsing through my logs, and here's a short list of .Govs and .Mils who have hit my site recently:
Federal Aviation Administration, Environmental Protection Agency, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, National Institute for Health, Pacific Northwest/Los Alamos/Lawrence Livermore/Oak Ridge National Laboratories, Census Bureau, National Archives, Federal Judiciary, State Department, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Treasury Department, Department of Justice, Department of Energy, National Security Agency, Army, Navy, Air Force, Langley AFB, Pentagon, US Transportation Command, Defense Threat Reduction Agency, Defense Technical Information Center, and the Pentagon.
Those are all within the last few months, and not counting the numerous hits I've gotten from various state, county and local governments.
None of these have ever raised a flag for me because I know government employees are still just people who do like to read blogs on their lunch break. Just like you and me. I seriously doubt any of those hits are related to some secret investigation into my sick and demented love of firearms. I didn't see the Treasury Department and say "Ack! BAFTE is coming to get me!" Likewise, I don't care if NSA, CIA or DoJ folks are reading through my site, because quite frankly all of the intelligence and law enforcement folks I've ever met have been relatively cool, and many of them are astoundingly brilliant. Basically, what I'm saying is, you'll never see me with a tinfoil hat on. You'll also never see me posting something on my blog that I wouldn't say to someone's face. That's why I blog with my real name. |
