So it's been a while since i've updated on my life and stuff. Jason and I went to NYC last weekend to visit with some friends. Jason had never been to NYC before, so that's interesting. The best part was being out of Morgantown for a while and not being at work. After spending the night at Dani's (who is great and I love her for letting us crash at her place all weekend),on Friday we wandered all around the city. By wandered i really mean i think we were lost most of the time. hehe. We went to see the WTC site, went to Battery Park, saw the Empire State Building from ground level. Accidentally found China Town, and had lunch in Little Italy. We went to Time Square, and then met up with my friend Laura (see the image gallery and Greg's trip to NYC for more on her) We hung out at her irish bar for a while and then had dinner.
Seeing all the sites wasn't my favorite part. Spending time with my buddies wasn't either.
My favorite thing about New York is that no one knows me. I can be anyone I want to be. I can assume any identity. Anyone can look at me and make a number of assumption, but there's no way for them to know if they are right or not. I feel free there. Free from obligations and worries and no one has a freakin' clue what's going on inside of my head. Jason's pretty quiet, so it gave me lots of opportunities to think about things I have been putting off for a while now.
Isn't it funny how we do that? When we're going through the daily, things tend to just get push on the back burner. Things we should be dealing with, but just don't feel like it. I need to get out of town more.
So we spend saturday with Dani, and we spend the day being dumb girls. LOL. Great time tho. Kinda hated to leave on Sunday and get back to the normal, but you know... So that's that. I'm sitting at work getting ready to drive to DC for the night in a few hours. I'm off to a military job fair. Fun Fun. Let me tell you. So all take care and maybe next time I'll tell you all what i've been thinking about. |
