SCOTUS just ruled in favor of Heller, striking down the DC ban on handgun ownership, and affirming our individual right to own firearms. That doesn't mean much at the moment, because near-bans will still be in place, which will require even more court battles to decide upon what "reasonable" regulations are.
The Brady Campaign will be chanting "we win, but you need to send us more money" shortly. The NRA will be chanting "we win, but you need to send us more money" shortly.
I will be ignoring the inevitable Pant-Shitting brouhaha, and instead will be relaxing this evening with a glass of scotch and perhaps a cigar. I might even throw in some range-time in advance and some fireworks later just to get the perfect ATFE combonation. |
