I like what Sebastian is saying here. I agree 100%. The ACLU is being hypocritical here, on what has become a very clear-cut issue. Instead of promoting and protecting our "Civil Liberties" they are ignoring an enumerated right, that is arguably more important and clearly defined than the right to vote!
I hate seeing an organization that has done so much good work protecting unpopular speech go down the road of liberal hackery. I'm willing to forgive their previous stance on the issue, simply because there really was no clear court precedent. They were wrong before, but they have a chance now to correct their stance and join the right side. Instead, they choose to stick their head into the sand, and deny that the Supreme Court's ruling was correct! Even though ALL NINE JUSTICES agree that the Second Amendment enumerates an INDIVIDUAL RIGHT.
So, until they see the light on this issue: Not One Dime. My money is going to the organizations that say they support my rights, and ACTUALLY DO IT.

The post at the ACLU Blog has quite a few comments (88 at last count). Every single one of them disagrees with the ACLU's stance on the Second Amendment. |
