If the Bush Administration enters into an agreement with Iraq to keep troops there for a certain number of years, with the caveat that they will be allowed to ask for extensions if need be.
Think about it...
A deal like this pretty much screws Obama's Defeat-America strategy (unless, ya know, Obama wants to renege on America's deal with the Iraqi People, which I wouldn't put past him.)
Once an agreement is reached, we will only be staying there at the request of the Iraqi government.
Things have already gotten so much better the media has stopped reporting on it almost entirely.
As a divisive partisan issue in this country, it has lost traction.
The biggest reason that screeching moonbats had for hating Republicans (recently) has been this war, which means that they're gonna have to come up with something new (which means new chants, slogans, bumper stickers, etc.) before the election.
I'm not saying the liberal sissies won't try to use the general dislike of Bush to hurt McCain's campaign, but I am seriously beginning to doubt how effective their efforts will be. Obama continues to refuse to debate McCain because he knows he can't win that way. His ill-conceived "McCain has too many houses" bit has clearly backfired. His poll numbers just aren't where they need to be. With one of his biggest selling points (bring the troops home) vanishing, he's got to be scrambling for a new spin. |
