It will be hard to prove it as true and the proceedings would most definitely take longer than January 2009. Unfortunately, even if it is true, I don't think we'll see much happen with this story.
Yeah, but if there is enough cause to arrest and charge him, then I don't care how long the proceedings take. I know they don't execute treasonous bastards on the White House lawn anymore... but that doesn't change the fact this allegation would imply that he actively hurt our nation's interests for his own political gain. That is something to be investigated one way or another, and I don't expect the media will do it. Nor is it their job to do it.

Being a Senator does not make you immune from arrest and prosecution for treason.
