One of the worst lies told about gun control groups is that they somehow promote "gun safety". Joe succinctly discusses why that is load of bullshit...
And why the NRA actually IS a gun safety organization.
The Brady Campaign has not saved a single child from being shot. They have not prevented a single negligent discharge. Even their greatest "successes" have done absolutely nothing to reduce accidents.
The NRA's Eddie Eagle program has made children safer. Their hunting and shooting educational programs have made gun owners less likely to cause accidents. By defending the Second Amendment, the NRA has ensured Americans are able to defend themselves from countless attempted crimes every year.
Yet the NRA is attacked on political fronts even though politics is only a tiny portion of what the NRA does.
Even if you don't like the NRA's politics, it is disingenuous to give groups like the Brady Campaign the title of "gun safety group" and at the same time accuse the NRA of being nothing more than a Republican shill organization. |
