Just Give Them What They Want |

First idea: get a different job. Second idea: if you don't want another job, get a gun. Third idea: if you don't want another job or a gun, get some Kevlar.
Frankly, I think the only way to make crimes like this less common is to make sure there are dead criminals on the floors of convenience stores across the state. Robbing a convenience store takes about 30 seconds. The fastest that police can arrive is a few minutes. When police arrive, the criminal is long gone. A significant portion of the investigations lead nowhere, and the rest result in a slap on the wrist. If criminals know they stand a good chance of being shot, they won't be as likely to attempt a robbery.
So many people tell you just to give the criminal what they want. This poor man has seen what can happen when you do that. Twice. Giving them what they want doesn't do anything but make them bolder. |
