Question: "what can you hunt with a Mossberg 702 plinkster"
Answer: Small game. Rabbits. Squirrels. Varmints. Although mostly I'd recommend using it to hunt tin cans and paper plates, because they don't move around as much.
Seriously though, the .22 rifle in one of its infinite manifestations is probably the best survival tool you can own. Anything from a cheap youth model single-shot bolt-action rifle to a high dollar target rifle will put meat in your pot.
The Mossberg 702 happens to be one of the cheapest ones out there. It generally runs OK once you find the ammo that it likes. Mine prefers the cheap stuff, and won't cycle properly with expensive target rounds. It comes with a 10 round magazine that I've never been able to load 10 rounds into. 7 rounds is fine though. For as cheap as it is, it will still shoot minute-of-bunny groups out to 50 yards no problem, and probably further. |
