That's the question isn't it? I can think of no law I'd be breaking, other than perhaps loitering. They could accuse me of being "in the business" of buying and selling guns without a license, but I wouldn't be buying ones I didn't intend to keep. Then of course they could just harass me because they are cops and can get away with it. I'm not willing to get into legal trouble over this, which is why I likely won't do it. Too much risk for no real benefit. I guess if I were attacking gun buybacks from an activism point of view, then it might be worth it, but I don't see much benefit there either. The only reason I'd do it is to maybe score a cheap gun or two, and perhaps save a piece of history from the furnace.
