    What The NRA Is and Isn't Comment

    Robb makes a good point.

    The NRA never claims to fight for all civil rights. Just the right to keep and bear arms. Giving them shit about "not supporting free speech" is the biggest straw man argument used by people who don't even really know what the NRA is.

    On the other hand, groups like the ACLU, who claim to stand up for all civil rights, er... don't. They explicitly deny one in particular. Guess which one? If groups like the ACLU put the same time/money/effort into supporting the Second Amendment as they do the first, then the NRA could go back to its original charter which was training people (civilian/military/LEO) to shoot accurately.
