My title isn't "The Conflict...", because these recent events clearly aren't anything new. There isn't a new conflict, there is simply a continuing conflict. Palestinians continually launch rockets and mortars into Israel. Israel shows more restraint than they are ever given credit for. When Israel reacts, they aren't at all gentle and I find it hard to blame them.
The Political Whore over at Creative Loafing points out that a bunch of anti-semitic peaceniks will be gathering down in St. Pete to demonstrate... I dunno, against Israel I guess. I haven't figured it out yet either, but I'll let ya know when I do.
But simply being this close to these raving hippies makes my skin crawl. Listen to this: Regardless of where one stands on the conflict, we can all agree that war is not the answer... Wrong. Sometimes the only answer to a determined, violent enemy who is hellbent on destroying you is to meet force with force. It just so happens that Israel has better, more accurate bombs. It also turns out that they use them far less often than their enemies. the horiffically [sic] one-sided casualty counts are a travesty Well, as I said, Israel has better bombs. But the difference in the body-count isn't for a lack of trying on the part of Hamas and their complete-destruction-of-Israel buddies.
Still, my biggest problem with these bark-humping moonbats isn't the fact that they are anti-war. I have pacifist friends. I believe non-aggression is a legitimate philosophy, as long as you actually put some thought into it. What boils my blood is these unpatriotic freaks are willing to actively support a group of (let's be honest) terrorists who hope to wipe out the rest of the western world as soon as they are finished with Israel. |
