Remember a while back when the world was forced to stop using the phrase, "the best thing since sliced bread?" Now, it isn't uncommon to hear, "the best thing since Breda's Bacon Candy." Well, I say there's no such thing as a good idea that can't be improved upon.
So here it is: Quadruple-Berry Bacon Candy.

Instead of dredging the bacon in some spiced up brown sugar, I dunked it in some homemade four-berry syrup (strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, blackberry, puréed in a simple syrup, then strained and cooked down.)
I then dredged the sloppy purple bacon peices through a plate of powdered sugar, and broiled until crispy and brown.
I think God only invented sex because he didn't think of this first.
Note 1: I also did a test run with brown sugar instead of powdered sugar, and the results were just as tasty.
Note 2: Make sure your syrup is cooked down enough that there isn't much water left in it. Water and bacon grease aren't happy together. |
