Well, I didn't get stone crab claws, but WVU did manage a resounding, if terribly ugly, victory over faux-archrival Marshall.
The icing on the cake, however is the sweet deal I got on a used Ruger Single-Six. I've always wanted a single-action revolver, and I've really been needing a .22 handgun of some sort. I still want to get a DA .22 revolver, and Beth has been begging me for a Ruger pistol with one of the pretty and accurate Tactical Solutions uppers.
But for now, I'm ecstatic about finally having a revolver with good sights, a long barrel, that I can shoot for cheap. My biggest concern with it is that it came with both the attractive walnut stock, and a hideous but immensely more comfortable Hogue rubber grip. I put the Hogue grip on, and it destroys the good looks of the gun. But I have a hard time finding a good grip with the standard Colt SAA style grips.
So I'm torn... do I go with my gut, which says it should be more functional, or with my heart which says a single action revolver ought to look good? |
