Um... I don't even know where to start on this. The author of the ad insinuates that Rubio isn't a loyal Republican.
Good.
I don't want another loyal Republican in the senate. I want a conservative who isn't going to bend over and kiss the feet of the established GOP leadership in Washington.
The Buzz suggested this might have been an ethnic attack on Rubio. (THAT'S RACIST!!!) But this kind of attack on someone like Marco Rubio is schizophrenic is so many ways I just have to laugh.
First of all, a large percentage of Florida's Hispanic voters are conservative. Second, the rest of the conservative voters in Florida don't mind voting for someone who is of Hispanic descent. Consider that it is Mel Martinez's seat that Rubio is after...
Third, any attack on Rubio immediately begs for a comparison against his opponent Charlie Crist. I laugh at anyone who suggests that Crist might be more "loyal" than Rubio. As far as I know, Rubio never endorsed the most heinous socialist power-grab this country has ever seen (at least until Pelosi-care gets rammed down our throat.)
My guess is that Crist is getting nervous. Rubio is polling too close for comfort. In fact, I think it is fair to say that a significant portion of the conservative vote in the state has abandoned Crist. However, Crist's electability lies in the fact that even liberals will vote for him. |
