A close friend of mine just sent me this bit about his girlfriend's job: Get this. We just got informed that (girlfriend)'s new job wasn't a 2 year contract as first told to her. It was 1900 hours, and they've been working her overtime. So in February she's gonna be out of a job. Now, here's the fun part: it's an ARRA job. So, when they hired her I'm sure they put "created a job". However, they transferred her from a true full time position, then closed that position and didn't hire anyone else. They took a full timer, and gave them a 1900 hour contract instead. The stimulus cost a job. So, it seems another "job created" in Obama's number is actually a job lost. Go figure. |
