What this means to me is that coming out of the closet, taking non-shooting friends to the range, and showing that gun culture is for normal people and not their stereotype of red-necked, knuckle dragging Neanderthals is essential for the long term survival of the right to keep and bear arms. --Joe Huffman
RTWT.
Like Sebastian, I believe you must be careful about comparing anyone who disagrees with you to the KKK. On the other hand, I do believe the cultural divide between gun owners and non-owners is the number one reason for the support of gun control. The number two reason, of course, is the erroneous idea that gun somehow control lowers crime.
The basis for the second reason is dying out quickly. People simply don't believe that gun control is an effective tool at stopping crime.
Anti-gun bigotry comes in two forms. The first is nasty elitist who, when confronted, will stick his fingers in his ears and scream "LALALAICANTHEARYOU" at the top of his lungs. There are maybe a handful of these in the United States. The second kind are the ones who unconsciously believe everything Hollywood tells them. They are easily converted with facts and hands-on experience.
I've said it before hundreds of times: "Take someone to the range!" We have no more effective tool than this for preserving the Second Amendment. |
