Which World I’d Rather Live In from Snowflakes in Hell.
Well stated. This has everything to do with what faith we put in the government. Granted, I know a lot of lefties who put no faith in the government, but I think the mainstream left certainly believes that the government can and should do "what is best".
Of course, this article also intimates the utter hypocrisy of reliance on the government. The problem is that Brady-ite leftards want to have their cake, eat it too, and then demand that cake the best decision for every citizen (or non-citizen for that matter.) "I want to cede my right of self defense to the government, then complain when they don't protect me, but while I'm at it, also take away everyone else's right to self defense." I still want someone to tell my how taking away my gun is going to make anyone else safe, aside from a violent criminal.
By the way, my feeling on police... In America, cops generally do a good job. Cops are people with the job to investigate, and in some instances prevent crime. Some of them make mistakes, some of them are corrupt, and some of them are inept... but those same descriptors can be applied to a portion of any substantial group in the entire world. Most of them are mostly good. None of them are perfect. They will try to do what they think best. So will I. I only give total faith to God.
