Thoughts on this as a bug-out-bag?
The plus is that is makes securely carrying a long gun easier. I imagine an M-4 size carbine would nearly disappear in the rifle sheath. I like well-built and well-padded packs with plenty of room for survival gear, which is why my normal backpacking gear doubles as my bug-out-bag.
The minus is, there may be cases where you don't want to advertise that you are carrying a firearm (say, when the police are confiscating weapons post-Katrina style.) I also wonder how comfortable it is compared to a normal internal-frame pack. It looks like it would be nearly impossible to sit down without taking the pack off.
