The City of Largo, FL (just down the road from me) denied a permit to operate a business because, apparently, gun shops are a "nuisance".
The owner of the business (who has a BATFE approved FFL) is suing. Good.
I hope the pencil pushing bureaucrat in Largo gets fired. The right to keep and bear arms must include the ability to acquire arms for it to have any meaning. Trying to keep gun shops from opening up shop without good cause is counter to that freedom. Furthermore, the City of Largo has absolutely no authority to regulate the purchase, possession, or use of firearms outside the scope of state law.
I predict Richard Lander will win this case, and the City of Largo will have to pay for his legal expenses. |
