She's in jail now. (Previous mention)
Ok, so it turns out the kid has a bit of a record... lets see, curfew violations... possession of alcohol/tobacco/marijuana... driving without a license... nothing that lots other kids haven't done, even the well adjusted ones. Her record include "13 contacts with police". Last time I checked, "contacts with police" aren't illegal. It just looks to me like she has a habit of thumbing her nose at authority, and getting busted for it. I could be wrong though.
I just can't see how she can be held in jail for posting a flyer... unless the flyer directly threatens violence, or incites violence. To me, this smells an awful lot like abuse of the First Amendment by the authorities. And they always get away with it when they do it to kids. I wonder why more and more Americans are growing up thinking it is OK to just give their rights away.
Not too many good kids like Zach Doty left. |
