The wrong side of the road |

|
I stand alone on the wrong side of the road
On the other side there are others gawking at me
"What is she doing? She can't go that way.
It's such a mistake."
I look back from the way I had came
But there are obstacles blocking my view
I know what was down there
My heart knew as well.
The others keep wondering what I was doing
Going on a different path
Thinking I made a wrong turn
And kept going anyway
Only I knew it was the right way for me
I'm tire of the gawking, the taunting
So I move on
One step at a time
Don't know if it's the right way
With doubt fogging my vision
But I just keep going
Believing it the way that's meant for me
Inhaling the air from the wrong side of the road
It feels heavy at first but soothes me to go on
Then it all makes sense
The wrong side of the road is just a perception
I look across watching them go carefree along their way
And I realize they're going somewhere I have already been
I've been there before a long time ago.
And now I am free
To set my own path and find my own place
All of this from the wrong side of the road
That turned out to be right
