Ok, I haven't completed my research yet, but that is because there is so much out there that Fred has personally written. I did want to bring up, however, that this article at townhall mentions something that made my ears perk up a bit... Condoleeza Rice as Fred Thompson's VP nomination. Verrrrrrry Innnnnnnteresting. Think about that. I like ol' Condy pretty well... she's tough, smart as hell, and doesn't seem to put up with much nonsense (its a miracle she can deal with Dubya.) Oh, also back in '06, she picked the Steelers to win the Super Bowl... that's a checkmark in the "plus" column for her.
So, put her as Fred's VP candidate, and suddenly, all of the "Let's elect Hillary because she doesn't have a penis" folks and the "Let's elect Obama because he isn't white" folks suddenly have someone else they can champion who doesn't suck. I've always proposed that you need someone likable as president, and a bulldog as VP. I think a pair like this could achieve that dynamic, plus some.
I'm not saying it is likely that this will happen, but it sure is an interesting proposal.
Anyway, here's the closing blurb from that article. Although it is clearly "we love Fred" propaganda, I think the sentiments, at least regarding Thompson's electability, are pretty much right-on.
If you want the toughness of Giuliani but can't take the baggage of cross-dressing, three marriages, anti-marriage, pro-abortion, and highly questionable on judges; if you want clear-headed straight talk of McCain - but without the frantic sometimes pathological mood swings, and someone who doesn't think political speech should be stifled - but encouraged; if you want the radiant intelligence, and clearly socially conservative positions of Romney - but are afraid to be called bigot for not feeling comfortable in voting for him, then for these reason's and a dozen more - Fred's your man!
