Another Townhall column from Fred.
This article talks about how good Tax Cuts are. You already know where I stand on that matter, and that isn't the reason why I'm posting this.
"Now we're being told that tax cuts have to end, so that the government can tax us and spend the money on programs to accomplish what Americans already did for themselves." The most important part of that statement has nothing to do with taxes: "what Americans already did for themselves." I'm endorsing Fred, not for the promise of lower taxes, but because the core of his philosophy is that of optimism... faith that Americans will do the right thing on their own without bureaucratic nonsense and over-spending. In fact, my faith in The People extends beyond that to the idea that they will do the right thing in spite of the government. Liberals/Socialists don't trust themselves, and therefore find it impossible to trust others. I trust myself, and have confidence that the American collective can and will achieve economic and social prosperity on its own.
