I'm glad spring is here. I still haven't started planting any of my vegetables for this year. Its a bit early for most of what I grow (peppers, tomatoes, zuchini, etc) but I usually start them inside. The problem is, where I normally keep my plants inside (with grow lights and such) is currently filled with all sorts of other crap.
I tried to remedy this by beginning spring cleaning and trashing a whole lot of crap (which I did,) but unfortunately, I still have too much crap.
My biggest problem, I guess, is that I don't like throwing things away at all. I have always hoarded information, but thats easy to store. Physical stuff, however, takes up a whole lot of space, especially when you don't have a garage or an attic to keep it in.
I've been using my new power tools (wedding present from Beth's dad... he's awesome) to build shelves and stuff, which helped some... But if you look in our utility room, you can't tell that I even cleaned and moved out half of the stuff.
All of my beer brewing equipment has its own shelf now, but bags of grain, jugs of distilled water, 6 gallon buckets, etc just take up a lot of space.
Maybe I should just give up until I have a garage. Of course, I guarantee when I have a garage, I'll just end up having more stuff. I need to just put all of my belongings in a big pile and put them on eBay. Then buy only what I need.... a laptop, some underwear, and a few shirts.
Anyway, a suggestion for people getting married: ask for cash or gift certificates. You probably have too much stuff already, and you really don't need more. If you do get a new blender, throw your old one away, or give it to the salvation army. Don't keep it. You don't need two blenders.
