Fishing:
Went fishing Saturday morning... the seatrout are all along the (intracoastal) flats in 4 to 8 feet of water. There are mostly undersized fish, but there are a few big ones lurking out there. Actually, the first fish of the day was a big bluefish caught on a popper, right as the sun was breaking, but after that it was nothing but trout. We did see a couple of redfish tails on an oyster bed, but they scattered after the sun started coming up. We didn't pursue them in the mangroves. That's next weekend.
Football:
Saturday, after fishing, at Beef O'Brady's in South Tampa, Mountaineer Football. We were out-coached in the first half. Marshall guessed our game, and read our offense like a book. It took some major adjustments in the second half to beat them. Oh, and the team is pretty well conditioned, unlike any team ever fielded by Nehlen... I think that's why we haven't been losing any games in the fourth quarter.
Sunday, the Steelers stomped the Browns. Watched the game at O'Brien's Pub on N Dale Mabry. Apparently, if you haven't been going there for 20 years to watch the Steelers, you can't get a seat inside. Good game... too many dropped passes, but most of them weren't Ben's fault. Kinda makes me wish we had Randel El back... but Ward still looks good, and Willie Parker is still fast.
Pretty much a perfect weekend. Fishing. Football. Beer. Ahhhhh. Dammit, it's Monday again. |
