Who I'm rooting for:
WVU - Duh! Two Heisman contenders. Amazing speed. Well conditioned and Athletic O-line. Unmovable rushing defense and improving passing defense. Our biggest weakness, IMHO, was that we always stuck to the same offensive game plan (spread the defense with receivers we rarely use, then use the O-line to shift the play east-west which usually creates a hole for Slaton to squeeze through, or end-around in the opposite direction of the line's momentum.) Well, Marshall taught us a lesson there, so I think our coaches should be a little more flexible from here on out.
East Carolina - They beat NC last weekend, so they shouldn't have a tough time beating Southern Miss this weekend.
USF - So close to being ranked. I'm sure the Tar Heels will put up a good fight tonight, but USF is damn good this year. I forsee USF being the fourth Top-25 Big East team before the end of the season. Their upcoming loss to WVU is gonna hurt, but they are looking like real contenders. When teams started jumping ship from the Big East (because it was a loser conference, apparently) they didn't foresee this year.
Rutgers - Ranked 13, and deservedly so. Norfolk State should be a walk in the park... a warm-up game for the next weekend against Maryland, who will be reeling from their recent loss to WVU. Expect Ray Rice to sit on the sideline for the second half of the game while the youngsters get the chance to show off.
Louisville - Ranked 9, The other Big East powerhouse. The Kentucky Wildcats simply don't stand a chance against Heisman candidate Brian Brohm's arm.
Connecticut - Let's face it, Temple sucks. If Connecticut loses to Temple, they might as well quit for the season.
Syracu se - I don't have much hope for their season, but they should be able to handle the Fighting Illini. It's gonna be a close game either way.
Cincinnati - Cincinnati looks real good this year. They absolutely trampled Oregon State (big whoop, I know) but they looked real sharp doing it. Cinci's season doesn't get hard until the end of the season where they've (wisely?) stacked all of their Big East games. The Miami of Ohio Redhawks will go down fighting.
Pitt - Ok, I'm not actually rooting for them. I can't bring myself to do it. Besides, the Spartans are gonna pound them into the turf.
I'm predicting the Big East will win 7 out of the 8 games this weekend.
