Aka, a particularly attractive dung beetle. Of course, they are also known as Rainbow Scarabs, which sounds a lot better than Dung Beetle.
My pool tends to collect bugs, and this little fellow was doing his best impression of the doggy paddle when I scooped him out. Since he was tired from his afternoon swim, he didn't mind posing for a few pictures.
And here, he is taking a dip in the rather chilly water.
