Today is Wish-I-Could-Vote-For-Fred-Thompson Day.
My ballot is gonna list a handful of RINOs, and a Libertarian, but no conservatives. So I can either vote for the least offensive RINO, or the Libertarian. I might just close my eyes, bite my lip, hold my breath, and vote for McCain, in the hopes that he'll ask Fred Thompson to be his running mate. I'd vote for Ron Paul, but in the Florida race, I think that will end up being a vote for Rudy Giuliani... kinda like voting for Nadar in '00 was a vote for Bush.
The other thing on the ballot is a tax cut. (pdf) Whats funny is that you'd think a tax cut, on a ballot, would have virtually no chance of failure. The newspapers and TV stations here seem to have been fighting it with all their liberal might. 60% of voters have to say "I would like a little extra money in my pocket." Not only does this new amendment cut property taxes, but it also fixes other significant problems, many of which are harmful to Florida's economy. I'm worried that the liberal democrats in Florida are becoming too powerful, and they might actually have the ability to stop this from being passed.
