    Says McCain. Funny, because the last time a semi-conservative GOP candidate uttered such a promise we ended up getting new taxes (of course, I was like 6 at the time). Does anyone believe McCain, if elected, will maintain such a promise given that he will be faced with a Democratic congress and given his propensity to cater to Democrats in the Senate? But, I guess he has to at least try to lie to conservatives before he gets into office.

    The biggest question isn't "if" he will cater to democrats, but "how". Also, "how much". My guess is 50% of the time, and both taxes and guns are on his list. I bet he'll give up just about everything else for the war in Iraq.

    Ironic that McCain makes this promise the same day that George HW Bush endorsed him.
