Chris Dodd says to just give half of the Florida and Michigan votes to each candidate. Senator, I hate to tell you, but that solves absolutely nothing. Hillary won, but only because Obama got screwed over. There are three obvious ways to handle this: count the existing votes, don't count any, or allow a re-vote.
I seriously doubt they'll count the votes, since they said they wouldn't and Democrats would never flip-flop on important issues likes this.
They can't just not count the votes though, since that wouldn't be fair and the Socialists Democrats are always fair.
A re-vote would be costly, and probably cause a number of other problems which would be hard to overcome.
I have a better idea: Ultimate Steel Cage Death Match between the candidates!!! Just award each state a lower number of delegates. Give the candidates something explicit to fight about: what percentage of the votes these two states should get. That way, since the primary election is extremely close, it will give Obama and Clinton better focus for tearing each other to shreds while McCain has all the time in the world to parade around and convince people to like him. |
