A great article about the West Virginia Mountaineer, posted (strangely) at The Hoya. Georgetown beat the snot out of WVU in the Big East tourney, so maybe this was meant as "there, there, its ok, we still like you even though we completely trashed your team."
Anyway, as touching as the article is, there are two bits that kinda stuck out for me. First of all: "...cheering, hollering and pretending to fire his fake wooden rifle..." Perhaps it is better not to tell them that it is a real rifle. And he's really firing it too, just with no lead on top of the wad. The rifle the Mountaineer carries is perfectly capable of taking game. However, it is also a masterpiece which was carefully handcrafted by WVU Alum Marvin Wotring.
The second bit that caught my eye was this:
"He ... turned down multiple requests to appear at National Rifle Association events (NRA functions were not approved by the university, and Campbell claims he’s never been hunting)." It seems to me that WVU has no place disapproving of NRA events, but since I don't know the whole story, I won't say much more.
