I'm suspicious of an article where the rugby player isn't the drunk one...
I played rugby for a few seasons in college, so I know a little bit about rugby. Let's see, if I remember correctly, it starts off by each team drinking their own kegs of beer, which is carried by the rookies. Then something happens in a mud and grass covered field for a while that looks strangely like people trying to kill each other. Then the teams get together and drink a few more kegs of beer together while screwing with the rookies. And at some point in the night there was random nakedness and keg tossing, often at the same time.
My point is, I find it hard to believe that rugby players weren't drunk. Still, ruggers are generally good guys, and this article is proof.
I believe the saying goes: rugby is a hooligan's sport played by gentlemen, whereas soccer is a gentleman's sport played by hooligans. |
