Or maybe they just check the Brady Campaign for the proper nicknames for legislation. The Take Your Guns To Work! bill is moving forward. Ooooh, better yet... one anti called it: "take your Uzi to work bill." I shit you not.
Palm -> Forehead.
Dems are getting pissy that we won't let them sabotage pro-gun bills with "assault weapons" nonsense. Yet they try every damn time.
"...forbidding employers from banning guns on company property..." not exactly. They just can't do anything about you having a gun LOCKED in your car in the parking lot. They can still create criminal empowerment zones anywhere else.
Now, before anyone has the thought that I'm pushing the NRA line... [Peaden's] bill will prevent gun violence if criminals know someone in a workplace might have a gun nearby. While he may be right, that should no be the point of this bill. The point is that the inside of my conveyance is private. I'm not in 100% agreement with how this bill is being executed, but I definitely don't like that Sen. Peaden is pushing this as something to reduce crime. I'd like to see the bill reworked completely remove any reference to firearms. If the NRA actually cared about a person's right to privacy and security of their personal effects, then they wouldn't be pushing a law that is only about guns in cars. |
