Guess it passed the house and is expected to pass the senate, regardless of Robb's treachery (just kidding.)
However, the "watered down" bill only applies to Conceal Weapons Permit holders. Ok. But, alas, the bill still won't apply to me because there are certain places of employment which are exempted. Included in the list are the usual places: schools and prisons and nuke plants of course. However, they also include:
(c) property owned or leased by an employer or the landlord of an employer upon which are conducted substantial activities involving national defense, aerospace, or domestic security.
Since I'm not campaigning for or supporting this bill as it is written, I guess I shouldn't care. However, I just want to be clear that it is patently ridiculous to say a building full of retired military personnel and people with high level security clearances are gonna be the types to cause trouble. You have to be stable to work in the defense/national security world. I know that Harris Corp. is one of the adversaries of this bill, and this was most likely a concession directly to them (they don't care now that it doesn't affect them.)
