This is a disturbing story... but the dude got off easier than he deserved. Quite frankly, were I in a situation like this, the guy in question would be quickly heading towards room temperature.
Just to be clear on my position here: The "eye for an eye" treatment for cases of child molestation is inadequate. When a child is molested or raped, part of their life is stolen from them. Their natural right to pursue happiness is taken away with force. For just about any crime, I am willing to offer the perpetrator a second chance. However, there is no adequate punishment for a being this foul, and there is no hope for them to ever be useful to society. Therefore terminating their existence is not only correct, but morally good. I applaud the women's efforts to try and "teach him a lesson", but the correct response would have been more kinetic.
Sorry if hearing about bastards like this puts me in a fist-pounding mood. |
