The discussion began with Tracy's hot brass incident, and Breda's followup.
Squeaky is not amused by KdT's typical feminist-bait description of what he fantasizes a woman should do when hot brass flies down her shirt. I've personally seen such a thing nearly happen, but thankfully for the dignity of that gal the brass cooled quickly enough that she was able to come to her wits before the tank-top cleared her baby feeders.
Anyone who's been shooting for more than thirty seconds knows that hot brass flies into inconvenient places, and you better have proper attire to protect the more delicate spots. I'd wager that everyone who's been shooting long enough has been burned at least once. Robb has done it. I have done it. People I've brought to the range have done it. In fact, I'd argue that you'd be hard pressed to call yourself a gun nut if you don't have a brass-casing-shaped scar somewhere.
The thing is, you learn quickly, just as a child learns quickly after touching a hot stove for the first time. Once you get burnt yourself, or see a friend swearing and digging in her cleavage like a bee just flew down her shirt, you tend to keep that in the front of your mind, like eye and ear protection, until it becomes automatic. |
