 As I mentioned, we are planning some camping trips this summer. Any of the WV trips can be "get up and go" since most places near us don't require reservations. For the trip to Assateague (MD, state park) we have to plan a little in advance. There aren't many sites available before August, so the best time will probably be early September, when there won't be any families there. The weather and the water should still be warm in early September.
Tentative trip schedule:
Leave early on the morning of Friday September 8th.
Stay Friday night and Saturday night.
Return Sunday afternoon.
There are a lot of sites available right now, but we should probably book soon. Here is a MAP of the Assateague campground. I was thinking about staying in "D" loop.
I need a head count to know how many sites to reserve. The sites can generally hold 2-3 tents with 4-6 people per site. Sites are $30/night (for 2 nights.) Don't worry if you don't have a tent, because I have (or have access to) plenty.
