I was just reading another one of the many articles which completely trash Factcheck.org. It is a good article, but I would like to pick one nit: “What works in Chicago may not work in Cheyenne," Obama says. The line, meant to reassure gun owners, highlights his peculiar view that the extent of an American's constitutional rights depends on where he lives. I don't think Barack honestly believes the extent of your rights depend on where you live.
I think Barack believes that nobody has the rights to own anything other than arbitrarily "government approved" firearms, no matter where they live. He just realizes that gun bans can be passed in big cities like Chicago, New York, and DC, while they would have little or no support in most of the country.
His own words about some draconian gun control (such as federal gun registration) not being politically feasible support my conclusion.
Remember, he's not stupid, just a socialist weenie. |
