 Signed the contract on our new house in West Oldsmar, Fl. It is in a kinda lousy area of town. There are two new houses in an area of older rentals and duplex/n-plex buildings. Ours is one of them. The good news is, the area is being developed. They just tore out a trailer park last year to start building luxury waterfront condos. I know some of the landlords in the neighborhood are in negotiations with a development company to sell out, which means bulldozers and nice new homes. We don't know when, but hopefully in the next few years.
The Oldsmar area is historical (the "Olds" in Oldsmar and in Oldsmobile are one and the same), and has lots of great public parks and preserves, including ones on North Tampa Bay. The city itself is relatively small, but it is growing at a tremendous rate. New businesses are moving in, and new (realy nice) developments are popping up all over. Check out the city website for lots of good info.
