Question: "wv gun reciprocity md"
Answer: If you are talking about concealed carry, then "not a chance". Maryland does not have a good concealed carry law. Ask PGP. Not only does MD not have a reasonable right-to-carry law, but they don't play well with others.
If you are just going from WV to MD to hunt, no worries, just follow common sense rules (like keeping your gun unloaded, cased, and locked in your trunk while traveling.) If you want to take your handgun into MD, unload it, and lock it with a trigger lock or lock the case it is in, and keep it in your trunk. In either instance, keep your ammo separate from your gun. If a cop thinks you have any way of quickly accessing your gun and loading it, you'll probably be in trouble.
If you are moving to Maryland, stock up on scary guns and handguns before you move there. MD has a stupid registration law for certain types of guns, but I believe it only applies to guns purchased in the state.
I don't know a lot about MD gun laws because there are too many, and they are too stupid for me to bother with. I don't intend to ever live in MD, and visits will be kept as short as possible.
There is a good possibility that you will run into local laws that are more strict than the state's laws. When that is the case, it is your duty to know the law. Don't assume anything about gun laws based on common sense, because gun laws rarely make any sense at all, let alone the common kind. |
