The astroturf group known as AHSA claims to "represent hunters and shooters". Last time I checked, hunters and shooters chose their own representation. AHSA has a handful of "members", most of whom sit on the board. The NRA has millions of members who choose to send a check every year.
Gun owners choose to be represented by an organization who is politically potent, but who also actually does something besides political lobbying.
The NRA actually supports and represents sportsmen. The AHSA has precisely zero accomplishments to their name. |
