Apparently the Mayors Against Guns are at it again. Since those mayors can't, um, control criminals in their own home towns, they are going around blaming other people. Typical politics.
I still never cease to be amazed how blatantly they misuse BATFE trace data for their own nefarious purposes. BATFE, in their report, specifically said not to use their data for the purpose that the MAGs are using it... because it doesn't mean what the anti-gun cretins say it means. They claim a lot of "crime guns" come from Florida, ignoring the fact that a trace on a gun does not mean the gun was used in a crime. They also ignore that the "time to crime" for most of these guns is measured in years, if not decades. They make their claims in order to try and force stricter gun laws on other states who simply don't have much of a problem with crime.
Sad thing is, a lot of the mayors in my neck of the woods are part of this ridiculous coalition of wannabe petty tyrants. Not my mayor, mind you, because you can be sure I'd have been in the news attacking his stupidity if that were the case. But the mayors of Kenneth City, Largo, Tampa and Tarpon Springs are all MAGs.
Since they are still mayors in the Tampa Bay neighborhood, it might be time to start raising a stink about them. Lots of mayors have dropped out of MAG once they realized it was simply another anti-gun organization which has no impact on crime. As liberal as the Tampa area can be about certain issues, rabidly anti-gun politicians tend to do poorly in elections around here.
Tampa mayor Pam Iorio, Largo mayor Patricia Gerard, Tarpon Springs mayor Beverley Billiris, and the mayor of Kenneth City (I have no clue who that is...) all perhaps need to be gently informed that they belong to a bogus organization run by North East liberal mayors who want to force their own politics onto us. |
