The "anti-gun bigotry" meme is getting a lot of play around the interwebs lately. Even though Joe seems to be the man in charge of the meme, some people who were not a fan from the get-go are talking.
Now the Brady Campaign is actually trying to engage with us over this meme. Hah.
I find that amusing for a few reasons. First of all because the Brady Campaign employs a lot of first-rate bigots, and bigots are generally not capable of self-identifying as such. But that doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things, because we are winning the battle over the Second Amendment anyway.
What really tickles me is that the Brady Campaign knows they are losing, and are beginning to flail wildly to maintain some sort of relevance. Taking on this particular meme is further proof that they are running full-speed down the track, preparing to pole-vault the shark.
I'm not saying this because I think the meme itself is outrageous. I agree wholeheartedly with Joe Huffman. I am saying this because the Brady Campaign has historically been pretty good with their image in the media, and in the eyes of left-wing kumbaya types. Their policy of ignoring this meme was much smarter. They can't win this one. In fact, they won't even come out of it without making some converts for us.
The reason? Besides Joe being right, and us having far more intellectual firepower, the Brady Campaign arguing why are not bigots begs the question. If they have to defend themselves with such strenuous (albeit feeble) arguments, it is a good indication that they swirling down the drain.
Much like PETA who lost all relevancy after the heyday of Clintonian liberal idiocy, they will probably be relegated to making their unpaid interns stand naked on the street corner covered in fake blood in order to garner attention from the ever shrinking segment of the population who can still stomach their bigotry. |
