After hearing about JayG's tactical pants experience, and now seeing this great review and comparison of the tactical pants market, I'm thinking it might be time to upgrade soon.
Nearly everyone here in Iraq who isn't wearing ACUs is wearing some manner of cargo pants. The most popular seems to be the basic 5.11 pants. I've seen them worn by everyone from Microsoft consultants to private security details. I brought some basic cotton cargo pants with me, but I'm learning rather quick that they aren't ideal. One pair ripped the first time it went to the laundry. The BX/PX here carries a few brands, and there are a number of other little shops that also stock tactical clothing. I definitely want something with a ripstop type weave.
If anyone has any recommendation, I'd be happy to hear them. So far, 5.11 and BLACKHAWK! seem to be getting the most votes. |
