*shiver* that's scary sounding. Enough to make you stain your fruit-of-the-looms.
Let's ban the gun that caused this!!! That makes perfect sense. Since you can't get incendiary and explosive rounds for just about any centerfire rifle or shotgun... oh wait. Just another columnist that doesn't know what the hell she's talking about.
How about you ban criminal negligence leading to a massive fire... oh wait, that's already against the law.
Heh, being unwilling to register to comment over at the paper, I'll just do it here.
I had to read your excerpt twice because it didn't make sense - I do love it when people make their crie-de-coeur with a dollop of ignorance to add a frisson of geekspeak.
The rest of her stuff didn't get a whole lot better. She shoulda called me, I'm a Life Member of the NRA... but I digress.
Since the weapon is legal, as she admits, how 'bout she just suggests that the US government simply not sell that particular ammo as surplus any more - or is someone actually making it for commercial consumption?
Clever "Turing Test", too, Greg. Made me think, damn you!
Well, I had stolen the test from xkcd.com (did you cry when littlefoot's mom died in the land before time?) but it didn't work quite as well because bot's are liars. My better half suggested I remove the hint, because it makes it too easy... i.e. she doesn't want stoooopid people posting here.
Of course, all the stooooopid people in the world seem to stick to mainstream media outlets... not so much at this little corner of perverse erudition I've staked claim to on the interwebs
