I submitted a comment at the Cornell Sun regarding the aformentioned PSH. I have a feeling it won't get through (although it wasn't quite as bad as Robb's thoughts.
Anyway, just in case, here's what I said:"Our loyalty to the Constitution is killing thousands of Americans a year."
I don't care if you hate guns. I don't care if you want to see them restricted. I don't care if you believe the 2nd Amendment allows for certain regulations on who may own guns. But how can you attack "loyalty to the Constitution"? Most anti-gun-rights people are more than happy to reinterpret the constitution, but even the worst of them won't go as far as out and out damning it. You can argue that the Constitution "causes" death for all sorts of other reasons too... for instance, anti-American terrorists have the right to freedom of speech, a fair trial, protection from unwarranted search and seizure.
I don't care for your style of speech, even if it is filled with lies, distortions, and vitriolic rhetoric... but I still defend your right to say what you want. You are wrong, but you have the, er, right to be wrong. Still, you may want to educate yourself about the topic a little more before posting articles like this one.
I could have written a lot more... there are a lot more things in his post that deserve comments, but I don't have the time today to write that novel. |
