Because they are trying to pass more gun laws.
Of course, these are Miami folks... the bluest area in this red state.
I don't have a problem with keeping guns away from felons, but laws like this make it easy for an honestly good person to get screwed. Frankly, if someone can't be trusted with a gun, they should probably be locked up anyway. As Marion Hammer perfectly explains it: ...the [NRA] does not want criminals to carry guns but believes that the problem with people who have convictions "withheld" rests with the courts, not the gun law. |
