PeTA is just mad that their bill to have the debeaked, crippled, scalded, diseased, dead chicken be the state bird didn't even make it out of committee. Although, I must admit, the debeaked, crippled, scladed, diseased, dead chicken is quite a majestic bird with a lovely song. Dare I say it may be more deserving than the cardinal? Well, I live in WV, not Kentucky, so I guess I don't get to pick their state bird. I would just urge all Kentuckians (?) to endorse a finer bird than the cardinal: All hail the debeaked, crippled, scalded, diseased, dead chicken!
-I'll tell you what's wrong with it, my lad. He's a debeaked, crippled, scalded, diseased, dead chicken, that's what's wrong with it! -No, no, 'e's uh,...he's resting. -Look, matey, I know a debeaked, crippled, scalded, diseased, dead chicken when I see one, and I'm looking at one right now. -No no he's not a debeaked, crippled, scalded, diseased, dead chicken, he's, he's restin'! Remarkable bird, idn'it, ay? Beautiful plumage! -The plumage don't enter into it. It's a debeaked, crippled, scalded, diseased, dead chicken! -Nononono, no, no! 'E's resting!
